πŸš€ Getting Started

Create an Account

Creating a SitePolaris account is free and takes under a minute. No credit card required.

2
Enter your full name, email address, and a password (minimum 8 characters).
3
Click Create Account. A 6-digit verification code will be sent to your email.
4
Enter the code on the verification screen. Your account is now active.
ℹ️

Disposable email addresses (like mailinator.com, tempmail.com) are blocked. Use a real email address so you receive alerts reliably.

Verify Your Email

After signup, a 6-digit OTP is sent to your email. You have 10 minutes to use it.

1
Check your inbox for an email from noreply@sitepolaris.com.
2
Enter the 6-digit code on the verification screen.
3
If you didn't receive it, click Resend code.
ℹ️

Check your spam folder if you don't see it within 2 minutes. Add noreply@sitepolaris.com to your contacts to prevent future emails from going to spam.

All account types β€” agency owners, team members, and portal clients β€” log in from the same page.

2
Enter your email and password, or click Continue with Google.
3
You'll be redirected to your dashboard automatically.
ℹ️

Team members and portal clients use the same login page with their email/password. Google login is available for account owners.

Forgot Password

1
Click Forgot password? on the login page.
2
Enter your registered email address and click Send Reset Link.
3
Check your inbox for a password reset email from SitePolaris.
4
Click the link in the email (valid for 1 hour) and set a new password.
ℹ️

If you signed up with Google OAuth, you cannot reset a password β€” use the Google sign-in button instead.

Google Login

Agency owners can use Google OAuth to sign up and log in without a password.

1
Click Continue with Google on the signup or login page.
2
Authorise SitePolaris in the Google consent screen.
3
You'll be redirected to your dashboard.
⚠️

Disposable email addresses connected to Google accounts are also blocked at signup.

πŸ“‘ Your First Monitor

What Is a Monitor?

A monitor is a website or URL that SitePolaris checks regularly. Each check tests whether the site is reachable (UP or DOWN), measures response time, and verifies SSL and domain health. When something is wrong, you get an alert immediately.

Adding a Monitor

1
In the dashboard, click + Add Monitor.
2
Enter a name (e.g. β€œClient Homepage”) and the full URL including https://
3
(Optional) Assign it to a client from the dropdown if you manage multiple clients.
4
(Optional) Add a keyword to check that specific content appears on the page.
5
Click Add Monitor. The first check runs immediately.
ℹ️

When you add a monitor, SitePolaris immediately runs an uptime check and a PageSpeed scan in the background. The initial scan takes about 10–20 seconds.

Understanding Status

UP

Site responded with HTTP 200–399. All good.

DOWN

Site timed out or returned an error (4xx/5xx). An alert is sent immediately.

PENDING

Monitor was just added and has not been checked yet.

Check Intervals

How often SitePolaris checks your monitor depends on your plan.

πŸ–₯️ Dashboard

Dashboard Overview

The dashboard shows all your monitors at a glance. At the top you'll see summary stats β€” total monitors, how many are up, and any active incidents.

Clients tabManage the clients your monitors are assigned to
Team tabInvite and manage team members (Starter+ plans)

Monitor Cards

Each monitor card shows the current status, last check time, response time, SSL expiry, and domain expiry. Click any card to see detailed history and run manual checks.

Response Time Charts

Open any monitor to see a 48-point response time chart. Each point represents one check. Hover to see the exact time and latency. Spikes indicate potential server issues worth investigating.

πŸ” Monitoring Features

Uptime Monitoring

SitePolaris sends an HTTP GET request to your URL at each check interval. If the site responds with a 2xx or 3xx status code within the timeout window, it's marked UP. Anything else marks it DOWN and triggers an alert instantly.

What triggers a DOWN alert?

βœ— Connection timeout (no response within 10s)
βœ— HTTP 4xx or 5xx response code
βœ— SSL handshake failure
βœ— DNS resolution failure

SSL Monitoring

SitePolaris checks the SSL certificate of every HTTPS monitor and tracks expiry. You'll get email alerts at these thresholds so you never let a certificate expire on a client site.

ℹ️

SitePolaris checks SSL daily per monitor regardless of your check interval.

Domain Expiry Monitoring

Domain expiry is checked via WHOIS lookup. SitePolaris supports 50+ TLDs including .com, .net, .org, .io, .co, .in, .uk, and more. Alert schedule:

PageSpeed Scores

Using Google's PageSpeed Insights API, SitePolaris tracks Core Web Vitals for both mobile and desktop. Scores are updated when you add a monitor and on-demand via the β€œRefresh PageSpeed” button.

Metrics tracked

β†’ Performance score (0–100)
β†’ LCP β€” Largest Contentful Paint
β†’ FID β€” First Input Delay
β†’ CLS β€” Cumulative Layout Shift
β†’ FCP β€” First Contentful Paint
β†’ TBT β€” Total Blocking Time
ℹ️

PageSpeed monitoring is available on Starter plan and above.

Security Scanning

The security scan is on-demand β€” it does not run automatically. Trigger it from the monitor detail page by clicking Run Security Scan.

12 categories checked

βœ“ HTTPS / TLS version
βœ“ HTTP security headers
βœ“ Cookie security flags
βœ“ Information disclosure
βœ“ Email security (SPF/DKIM)
βœ“ HSTS policy
βœ“ Content Security Policy
βœ“ DNS configuration
βœ“ Privacy headers
βœ“ Mixed content
βœ“ Redirect chain
βœ“ Performance headers

Each scan produces a score (0–100) and a grade (A–F), with details on what passed, what needs attention, and what is critical.

ℹ️

Security scanning is available on Pro plan and above.

Keyword Monitoring

Add a keyword when creating or editing a monitor to verify that specific text appears on the page. This is useful for checking that important content (a phone number, a price, a notice) hasn't been accidentally removed.

1
Edit a monitor and enter a keyword in the Keyword field.
2
Choose Contains (default) or Does not contain.
3
Keyword checks run weekly automatically and can be triggered manually from the monitor detail page.
ℹ️

Keyword monitoring is available on Pro plan and above.

πŸ”” Alerts

Email Alerts

Email alerts are enabled by default for all accounts. When a monitor goes DOWN, an alert is sent immediately to your registered email. When it recovers (UP), you get a recovery notification.

ℹ️

Alerts use a per-incident model β€” you get one DOWN alert when an incident starts and one UP alert when it ends. No repeated spam.

Slack Alerts

Connect a Slack webhook to receive alerts directly in a Slack channel. Available on Starter plan and above.

1
In Slack, go to Apps β†’ Incoming Webhooks and create a new webhook for your channel.
2
Copy the webhook URL (starts with https://hooks.slack.com/).
3
In SitePolaris, go to Clients β†’ Edit Client and paste the webhook URL in the Slack field.
4
Save. Alerts for that client's monitors will now go to Slack.

Alert Types

Monitor DOWNSent immediately when a site becomes unreachable
Monitor UPSent when a site recovers from a DOWN state
SSL Expiry WarningSent at 30, 14, and 7 days before SSL expiry
Domain Expiry WarningSent at 60, 30, and 7 days before domain expiry
πŸ‘₯ Client Portal

Adding Clients

Clients let you group monitors and give specific people access to their own monitoring data. Available on Starter plan and above.

1
Go to the Clients tab in the dashboard.
2
Click + Add Client and enter their name, email, and optional Slack webhook.
3
Save. You can now assign monitors to this client when adding or editing monitors.

Client Login Access

You can give a client their own login so they can check their site status without contacting you.

1
Go to Clients, click the edit (pencil) icon on a client.
2
Toggle Allow client login and set a password for them.
3
Share the login URL: sitepolaris.com/portal
4
The client logs in with their email + the password you set, and sees only their assigned monitors.
ℹ️

The client portal is a shared portal on SitePolaris β€” it is not white-labelled. Clients will see the SitePolaris branding.

Public Status Pages

Each agency owner can create a public status page showing the health of their monitors. You can also create per-client status pages.

1
Go to Settings β†’ Status Page.
2
Enable the status page and enter a custom slug (e.g. myagency).
3
Your status page is now live at sitepolaris.com/status?s=myagency
4
Share this URL with clients or embed it in your website.

Monthly Reports

SitePolaris can generate a summary report for each client covering uptime percentage, SSL status, domain status, and any incidents. Available on Pro plan and above.

1
Go to Clients and click the report icon on a client.
2
Click Send Report to email the report to the client directly.

❓ FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use SitePolaris if I am not an agency or developer?
Absolutely. SitePolaris works for anyone who wants to monitor a website β€” whether you run a personal blog, a small business site, an e-commerce store, or manage client websites professionally. If you want to know when your site goes down before your visitors do, SitePolaris is for you.
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No. The Free plan is free forever with no card required. You only need to add payment details when you decide to upgrade to a paid plan.
What happens when my monitor goes down?
You receive an email alert immediately. If you have Slack configured for that client, a Slack message is also sent. You receive exactly one DOWN alert per incident, and one UP alert when it recovers.
Can my clients see their own monitoring data?
Yes. You can enable a per-client login so your clients can log in to the SitePolaris portal and view only their own sites' status, SSL, and domain data.
What is the difference between Admin and Super Admin?
Admin team members can only see clients assigned to them and cannot delete anything. Super Admins can see all clients and have full access (except billing and account deletion, which only the account owner can do).
Is the security scan automatic?
No. The security scan is on-demand only. You trigger it manually from the monitor detail page. It is not run on every check to avoid performance issues.
How does the keyword check work?
SitePolaris fetches your page and checks whether the keyword you specified appears (or does not appear) in the HTML. Checks run weekly automatically and can be run manually anytime.
Do you support international payments?
Yes. Payments are processed by Razorpay and support all major international credit and debit cards, as well as UPI, Netbanking, and wallets.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee. Go to Dashboard β†’ Billing β†’ Payment History and click "Request Refund" next to your payment. We process refunds within 2–3 business days, no questions asked.
How do I contact support?
Email us at hello@sitepolaris.com. We typically respond within 24 hours.
